What are the COE’s of the glass?

Is Czech glass compatible with Moretti?

Can I encase Tourmaline Pink ?

Can I encase the opaque with the transparent glass?

Can I use the white for the petals of my flowers in my encased florals ?

Please see the color charts for COE’s.

The glass from the Czech Republic is Soda lime and has a COE comparable to Moretti but that does not make it compatible.  There are other issue that have to be taken into consideration when mixing glass, where it was made and how it was made.         Czech glass has a different viscosity so it does cool differently than Moretti and this will cause stress in the bead.  Also since we do not know for sure what the COE is of each color of Moretti we can not compare the COE to either glass. If you do mix the two glass you have to test the compatibility. This testing is up to you if you are going to mix the glass.

No, No, No your bead will crack.  Some bead artists have found if they use a very thin layer over clear they can encase it. I have not been able to do this. You can do surface decorations with out a problem but do not encase it.
When you strike it be sure to cool the bead then reheat, this may take several attempts but the results are worth waiting for.

Due to the density of the opaque colors your bead will crack. You can make encased stringer and ribbon cain with  no problems.  Just don’t load up the matrix of the bead with opaque glass.  If your bead cracks then you used to much opaque glass. I would keep it less than 25% of the matrix bead.

I do it all the time.
